Construction Summary & Care: 

Our boots are constructed using traditional Blake stitching, a method that stitches the outsole directly to the insole and upper. This construction allows for a slimmer, more refined silhouette while offering greater flexibility than many traditional welted constructions.

Blake-stitched boots are designed to be resoleable. When the outsole eventually wears down, a skilled cobbler with the appropriate equipment can replace it, helping extend the lifespan of the boots.

Resolability depends on the condition of the upper, insole, and overall construction. We recommend working with a professional cobbler experienced in Blake-stitched footwear.

Natural Leather Characteristics

Our boots are crafted using genuine full-grain leather, selected for its natural texture, durability, and ability to develop character over time.

Because leather is a natural material, variations in grain, texture, color, and surface markings are to be expected. No two hides are exactly alike, meaning each pair of boots may have subtle differences from the product photography.

These variations are inherent characteristics of natural leather rather than manufacturing defects. 

Leather Sole & Initial Break-In

Our boots feature genuine leather outsoles with rubber reinforcements at the forefoot and heel for improved traction and durability.

Due to the nature of leather sole construction, the boots may initially feel firm or stiff. This is normal, as leather naturally becomes more flexible with wear.

As the boots break in, the leather sole will gradually flex more naturally with your movement, providing a more comfortable wearing experience.

We recommend allowing time for the boots to break in rather than expecting the same flexibility as footwear constructed with softer synthetic soles.

Leather Care

Our boots are crafted from full grain horse leather. To maintain their appearance, gently remove dirt with a soft cloth or horsehair brush and occasionally apply a leather conditioner suitable for horsehide. Avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct heat, and sunlight. If wet, allow the boots to air dry naturally. We recommend using cedar shoe trees to maintain their shape and minimize creasing. Natural variations in grain, texture, and color are characteristic of genuine horsehide leather and contribute to the individuality of each pair.
