Woven on a traditional shuttle loom at 14oz from 100% cotton, this selvedge denim uses irregular slub yarns that create subtle thick-and-thin variations across the surface. From a distance, the denim reads as a clean, deep black. Up close, the subtle slub construction reveals texture and dimension that conventional flat black denim doesn’t have.

Rather than developing the high-contrast fades associated with indigo denim, the black gradually softens with wear. Areas such as the thighs, knees, pockets, and seat will slowly develop subtle charcoal tones while the rest of the denim remains deep and dark.

Cut in our relaxed straight-leg fit with a comfortable mid rise and finished with the signature self-finished selvedge edge produced by shuttle loom weaving.

Please note as these are raw denim, they’ll feel firm and structured at first. With regular wear, the fabric will gradually soften and mold to your body, creating a fit and fade pattern that’s unique to you.

Our Black Slub denim is tagged true to size. If the label says 32, it measures 32 with a natural allowance of approximately 1 inch due to the handcrafted nature of the construction. No vanity sizing.

Order your true waist size. These jeans are sanforized, meaning shrinkage is controlled to under 1%, what you order is what you get.

If you are between sizes, size down for a cleaner fit through the thigh as the denim breaks in.
